The third Mons International Romantic Film Festival (FIFA Mons) 2018 is part of activities to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation in Vietnam.
The third FIFA Mons, co-organized by the Vietnam National Studio for Documentary and Scientific Films and the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation to Vietnam, will take place from September 21 to 24 in Hanoi.
Accordingly, Noces (A Wedding, 2016), a film of Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Pakistan will open the third FIFA Mons on September 21 at the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, 465 Hoang Hoa Tham street, Hanoi.
Many films will be screened in the third FIFA Mons, including "La choiette entre veille et sommeil," a film of Belgium and France; "Lerd" (A Man of Integrity), a 2017 Iranian drama film about corruption and injustice in Iranian society, directed by Mohammad Rasoulof; "Fortunata," an Italian film, and "I Am Not Your Negro," a 2016 documentary film which won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award for Best Documentary.
The audiences will have an opportunity to enjoy five productions, including two tragedies, a comedy, an animation and a documentary, which have all won numerous prizes at top international film festivals.
FIFA Mons was launched in 1984 in the Wallonie region, Belgium. The festival first took place in 1985 and is organized every two years. The festival presents films with the subject of “Love” in the broadest meaning of the word. FIFA Mons has since become a reputable film festival in Belgium, Europe and around the world.
In 2017, the FIFA Mons opened in Vietnam for the second time with many excellent films, including The Unknown Girl produced by Belgium and France, Daughter (Iran), Marija (Germany and Switzerland) and Aurore Tabort (France).
