VTV wins rights to broadcast UEFA EURO 2020 Finals

The UEFA EURO 2020 involving 24 national teams is scheduled to take place from June 12 to July 12.

National station Vietnam Television (VTV) on June 20 announced it owns the rights to broadcast live the UEFA EURO 2020 football tournament, Tuoi Tre Online reported.

Accordingly, VTV is the only medium in Vietnam able to purchase the rights from UEFA to produce and air all programs relating to the UEFA EURO 2020, besides carrying out live broadcast of the matches.
Specifically, VTV owns the right to broadcast matches, news and commentary programs relating to the UEFA EURO 2020; use images and materials relating to EURO 2020 in other programs; and create and provide clips of matches or match days.
The state broadcaster will air all matches and broadcast commentary different platforms, including terrestrial, cable and satellite television, IPTV, Internet, smartphone, social network across the country.
Concerning rights sharing and re-broadcasting, VTV is the only organization UEFA has granted the media rights of EURO 2020 for the entire country; all other organizations who want to share the rights must have VTV’s permission and written approval from UEFA.
Organizations who want to re-broadcast VTV’s channels need to have authorized documents proposing the re-broadcasting schedule and must re-broadcast the intact program structure of a VTV match.
The UEFA EURO 2020 involving 24 teams is slated to take place from June 12 to July 12. It is scheduled to be held in 12 cities in 12 European countries instead of being hosted by one country as it has been traditionally.
