The biggest impression for the author of the article is all about the taste of Hanoi, from street food markers to cultural museums and scenic freshwater lakes.
Hanoi has ranked fifth among the list of seven best places in Asia for solo travelers by Bigseventravel, an Italian travel guide site.
The website described Hanoi as a hectic, crazy and often confusing capital city of Vietnam, which is a popular town for many travelers across the world.
The biggest impression for the author of the article is all about the taste of Hanoi, from street food markers to cultural museums and scenic freshwater lakes.
“It’s a wonderful base from which to explore the North of Vietnam, including Halong Bay and Sapa, while also enjoying the comforts of a modern vibrant city,” Bigseventravel wrote.
Besides Hanoi, other cities mentioned in the list including Tokyo (Japan), which tops the list, followed by Bali (Indonesia), Singapore, and Seoul (the Republic of Korea); Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Chiang Mai (Thailand) came sixth and seventh respectively.
Hanoi is one of 19 nominees to run for the title of “World’s Leading City Destination 2019” in World Travel Awards, the de facto “Oscar” award in the tourism industry.
The nomination is an opportunity for Hanoi to further promote its brand as a hospitable, friendly and quality destination, thereby, luring more visitors to the city, according to an official of the National Administration of Tourism.
Besides, the city has also been named among several world tourism rankings this year including 26 best Asian cities for a combination of business and leisure by Japan’s All Nippon Airways, 25 destinations in Asia and 25 destinations in the world in 2019 by TripAdvisor. Most recently, it is listed among the 17 best places in Asia by CNN.
The city is striving for the target of receiving 29 million tourists and making VND103 trillion (US$4.4 billion) from tourism by the end of 2019.
