The exhibition on the best zero-milestone maker designs takes place until November 26 at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.

The contest was held under the framework of the project on renovation for the area around Hoan Kiem lake.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects Phan Dang Son said that seeking people's opinion on the designs is an appropriate step, as the marker is highly cultural and humane, especially when it is located in such a special area as Hoan Kiem lake. The goal of this project is to turn the zero-milestone maker into one of the cultural symbols, the highlight of the thousand-year civilization capital, the city for peace and creativity.
The organizing board expects the marker would become an attractive tourist destination and the designs would receive enthusiastic feedback from the community. This is an important basis for the investor to consider, decide and choose the most suitable design for implementation.
“We hope to receive as many comments as possible to study and complete the plans,” Chairman of Hoan Kiem district People's Committee Pham Tuan Long said.

The design contest, as part of the project on renovation for the area around Hoan Kiem lake, was launched on June 3 to seek the best design solutions for the zero-milestone maker – an important tourist destination in the Hoan Kiem lake.
The contest received 105 entries across the country and the winning design was selected in late July. Light Gate, a design by a group of young lecturers from the Hanoi University of Architecture, won the contest. The zero-milestone maker will be placed in the yard in front of the Ly Thai To Statue, next to the Town Hall, according to the organizing board.
