Hanoi strengthens ties with Vientiane

Hanoi wishes to further promote friendly cooperation with Vientiane, Laos’ capital city, for the purpose of the two cities` socio-economic development.

The statement made by Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal party committee at the reception for a Vientiane Capital Front for National Construction delegation on June 26.
The delegation is led by
Bounthieng Khounsy, Vientiane Capital Party Committee member, President of Vientiane Capital Front for National Construction who is on a working visit to Hanoi.
The meeting also saw the attendance of members of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and President of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee Vu Hong Khanh.

Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang stressed that leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee always respect and appreciate the traditional relationship between the two parties, the governments and the people of the two capitals.
For many years, the two capitals have developed close and deep cooperation in many fields. The two cities maintain regular visit exchanges, share experiences, thereby improving the quality and effectiveness of the frontline work, contributing to the political tasks, Hang added.
Through the delegation's visit, the Hanoi official expects that the two capitals’ fronts will continue to share and exchange experiences in gathering and promoting the great national unity to create a consensus, contributing to successful implementation of the two cities’ tasks.

For his part, Bounthieng Khounsy on behalf of the delegation thanked the warm welcome of Hanoi’s authority. 
Briefing on Vientiane’s situation, he said that Laos’ capital has achieved many development targets in the first six months of 2018. From now to 2020, Vientiane will strive to supplement infrastructure and promote tourism investment, with three movements being implemented, including anti-negative phenomena, increasing income and fostering compassion for the capital, the country.
Bounthieng Khounsy affirmed that in the coming time, Vientiane will keep making efforts to create favourable conditions for the two fronts to share and exchange experiences.
