Hanoi Run for Children 2018 brings hope to child patients

The Hanoi Run for Children is not only a charity event but also a public relations activity, contributing to increasing attention from Hanoians and international friends to the children suffering from fatal diseases.

The Hanoi Run for Children 2018, an annual activity to raise treatment funds for disadvantaged children with cancer and congenital heart disease, will take place at Thong Nhat Park (Hanoi) on December 2.

On November 26, in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations and the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam jointly held a media meeting to brief on the Run for children of Hanoi 2018.

Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, general secretary of the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association said that the Hanoi Run for Children is not only a charity event but also a public relations activity, contributing to increasing attention from Hanoians and international friends to the children suffering from fatal diseases. This is also a people-to-people diplomatic activity between Vietnamese and Canadian people.

For her part, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Deborah Paul said all children deserve a healthy life, and people can make a difference in the life of less privileged children by helping them to receive treatment and realize their dreams.

The Hanoi Run for Children has become a prestigious and widely popular program in the capital city. It raises about VND1 billion (USD42,800) every year. Deducting organization expenses, all the proceed will be spent on supporting disadvantaged children with cancer and congenital heart diseases at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, the Hanoi Heart Hospital, and the Heartbeat Vietnam of VinaCapital Foundation.

The Hanoi Run for Children 2018 is supported by celebrities like People's Artist Le Khanh, singer Thai Thuy Linh, MC Phan Anh and singer Duc Tuan.
