Notably, Hanoi took the lead in the country in foreign direct investment attraction, with a total of US$7.5 billion. The city’s tourism industry continued to flourish, welcoming some 26.4 million visitors, up 10.4% year-on-year, of whom foreign holidaymakers were 6.05 million, rising 21.13%.

Looking ahead, Hanoi’s mayor said the city will continue to smooth its business and investment environment, maintain and expand friendship and cooperation with capitals, cities and international organizations. The city will also improve its diplomatic activities based on three pillars namely economic diplomacy, political diplomacy, and cultural diplomacy.
