The underground parking lot lies on an area of about 14,500m2, with a total investment of about VND565 billion (US$24.3 million).
Building an underground parking in Cau Giay park is suitable to the planning and should be encouraged to meet local residents’ demand, according to a representative from the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture.
In August 2018, Tay Ho Urban Development and Investment Joint Stock Company submitted a proposal to Hanoi’s authority on building an underground parking able to house 820 cars. The underground parking lot lies on an area of about 14,500m2, with a total investment of about VND565 billion (US$24.3 million).
The parking lot has three basements, of which the second and third ones will be used to park 820 vehicles, with total area of about 29,000m2. The first basement will be used for commercial and service purposes, covering an area of 12,000m2. On the surface, the company plans to be used for operation, protection, ventilation, and an exit with a maximum density of 5% in the land plot.
According to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture’s representative, area’s currently is a park and a sport ground. This plot is located in the Northeast corner of Cau Giay park which is dedicated to growing trees.
Within 500m around the research site for underground parking, there are three public parking spots with capacity of only about 160 vehicles.
In order to ensure the project’s feasibility, the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture requires this company to consult with Cau Giay district People's Committee, the district’s residents and the maintenance board of technical urban infrastructure (under the Department of Construction).
