PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Professor David Dapice, Senior Economist of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Vietnam Program, Professor Thomas Vallely, Director of the Vietnam Program on January 18 in Hanoi.

PM Phuc said that Vietnam is selecting solutions to convert itself into a ‘new economic tiger’. Hence, he proposed experts research and propose appropriate themes for VELP.
Professor Vallely said that Vietnam was at important moment, seeking large-scale reform. The professor recommended Vietnam pay attention to the response to climate change in the Mekong Delta region; tackle urban issues and restructuring at credit institutions.
He also noted the importance of promoting production of high added value rice is also an important measure for the country.
