KinderWorld has had many meetings with the Hanoi Department of Tourism to discuss the plan of training implementation for hospitality related courses. It resulted in the first Advanced Tourism Management Courses for 20 officers being kicked off at Pegasus International UniCentre (our vocational training arm) in March 2018. With this initial success, our academic team is finalizing the details with the authority for conducting more training in June 2018.
In March 2018, Singapore International School @ Gamuda Gardens had the honor to host the “Situations and solutions for developing private preschool education after 15 years of Hoang Mai District establishment (2003 – 2018)” workshop for 300 preschool educators and teachers.
The group also successfully co-hosted the First Round of Asia – Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools (APMOPS) 2018 in Vietnam and sponsored qualified top students to attend the Final Round in Singapore. Through the Students Run and Fun Fair event at Singapore International School in May, more than VND620 million was raised and donated to Operations Smile Vietnam, to fund the surgery for underprivileged students with facial deformities.
KinderWorld Education Group and our affiliated schools and colleges will continue to work closely with the People’s Committee and relevant Authority Departments to implement more practical training programs and charitable donations as committed in the signed MOU.

What do you think of the attractiveness in Vietnam’s investment environment for a FDI in education? As a FDI in Vietnam, can you share with us the advantages and challenges?
With the increase in the middle-class population, there is plenty of opportunities for business growth and investment in Vietnam as parents wish for their children to receive a broader education that would prepare their children to be future-ready.
Vietnam has achieved remarkably high and inclusive GDP growth since the late 1980s. GDP growth per capita increased 3.5 fold during the period of 1991 – 2012. In 2017, Vietnam income per capita has nearly reached USD $2,400, and the economy growth rate hit a 10-year high record of 6.8%.
Which initiatives KinderWorld has taken on to innovate its education model to keep up with the current trend and the Technology Revolution 4.0?
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Education is increasing in importance around the world. KinderWorld International Kindergartens and Singapore International Schools are embedding STEM education into the curriculum with a focus on problem-based learning activities that engage students in STEM projects such as robotics and coding. This approach also involves students in design thinking and creative problem solving.
As part of KinderWorld’s complete approach to education, the development of Outward Bound Vietnam was initiated to inspire and appreciate social, cultural and community differences. OBV introduces a unique programme which fosters interpersonal, leadership, survival skills and instills social/ environmental responsibility through unique outdoor activities and adventure-based experiential learning.
Singapore International Schools ensure that students have the opportunity to build character and a range of soft skills including perseverance, resilience, self-confidence and team work by including Outward Bound courses in the curriculum.  These courses are professionally organized and delivered by Outward Bound Vietnam in consultation with Singapore International Schools to ensure our students are well prepared as future global citizens.
