In Hanoi`s development orientation to become the leading center of the country, the capital always attaches importance to education and training.
Preparing for the 2018-2019 school year, Hanoi has over 80 newly-built schools, of which many are newly established, serving the needs of pupils and students in the city.
According to reports from districts and towns, Hanoi has built 74 new schools (including 29 new-established ones), and added 1,579 classrooms for school year of 2018-2019.
The city has nine high schools put into operation (two public, one independent public school, six private schools), including Xuan Phuong high school (Nam Tu Liemdistrict), Phan Huy Chu high school (Quoc Oai district), Lam Nghiep high school (under the University of Forestry, Chuong My district), Kinh Do high school (Dong Anh district), Le Quy Don secondary and high school (Nam Tu Liem district), Hoa Lac secondary and high school (Thach That district), Vinschool secondary and high school - The Harmony (Long Bien district), Intellectuals secondary and high school and Pham Van Dong high school.
According to the latest announcement by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the city has also renovated and repaired 387 schools at all levels (including 141 preschools, 140 primary schools and 106 junior secondary schools). 40 schools have been upgraded, ensuring material facilities for the new school year. The city has also provided funds for the purchase of equipment for new school year.
In school year of 2018-2019, Hanoi will have 2,689 schools and 1,986,809 students (up 48 schools and 109,930 students). In particular, there are 2,182 public schools with 1,734,596 students and 507 private schools with 252,213 students.
