Hanoi to administer vitamin A to 6-36 month children

It is expected that more than 1,900 children under six months who are not breastfed in Hanoi will be provided with vitamin A.

Some 448,000 children aged 6-36 months across the capital city of Hanoi will receive vitamin A supplementation on the 2nd Micronutrient Day in 2018, on November 30 and December 1, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control informed..

Under the scheme,it is expected that more than 1,900 children under six months who are not breastfed will be provided with vitamin A and nearly 13,000 children aged 37-60 months will require vitamin A for prophylaxis.

In addition, there will be more than 7,700 mothers about to give birth within a month will be provided vitamin A in a large dose.

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control requested health stations in communes, wards and districts to ask parents with children in the above-mentioned age to the local clinics for vitamin A administration.
