Vietnamese students win first-ever gold medal in "Crystal Growing Competition"
The "Crystal Growing Competition" is one of the interesting and useful playgrounds, helping students to come closer and have interesting scientific experiences.
After five-years of participation, Vietnamese students won a gold medal in the international "Crystal Growing Competition" for the first time.
Beating 61 teams from 16 countries in the world during the international "Crystal Growing Competition" 2018, students from Vietnam's Wellspring bilingual school touched the dream of gold medal.
The "Crystal Growing Competition" was initiated in Belgium in 2000 and then spread to other countries in the world, such as the USA, Spain, Italy, Singapore, among others.
The competition is annually held by the Crystal Association of the member countries under the International Union of Crystal Studies (IUCr).
It is held for students from elementary school upwards, with the hope that they will be able to explore and do experiment, to stimulate their passion for science.
2018 was the fifth year the "Crystal Growing Competition" was organized with the increasing number of attendees. Vietnam had up to 90 groups from secondary schools, high schools, institutes and universities across the country participating in the competition.
