US President Donald Trump on way flying back Washington said thank you to Vietnam for hosting the second summit between him and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The president left Vietnam after a 40-minute news conference at the JW Marriott hotel where he stayed during the summit.
"Thank you prime minister and president of Vietnam. We’re in Hanoi. It’s an incredible city, and what’s happened over the last 25 years has been incredible for the people of Vietnam, the job they’ve done, economic development. Really something special. So I want to thank all of the people of Vietnam for having treated us so well," the president said at the beginning of the press conference, which was pushed ahead two hours.
On Wednesday morning, Trump paid a courtesy visit to Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Trump and Phuc had a working lunch before he met with North Korean leader Kim in the evening.
In the meeting with Trong, the leaders talked about ways to strengthen the US-Vietnam comprehensive partnership. They committed to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific with shared principles of respect for sovereignty, peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with international law, and freedom of navigation and overflight.
They welcomed the growing commercial relationship between these two countries.
On this occasion, he invited Trong to visit the US within this year to further discussions on the enhanced comprehensive partnership.
At the meeting, Trump and Trong witnessed the contract signing between Boeing and Vietnamese VietJet and Bamboo Airways with total deals worth nearly US$16 billion for more than 100 new airplanes.
Hosting the summit, Vietnam has received lots of compliments for its hospitality, care, and facilitation for international reporters.
