Kim boarded his private armored train going through China to ride back home after four days staying in Vietnam.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in early afternoon March 2 left Vietnam’s Dong Dang border station, ending a trip to Vietnam for a summit with US President Donald Trump and official visit to Hanoi.
Kim, smiling and holding up his hands, boarded his private train at the Vietnam-China border to ride back home on an armored train that will take 60 hours.
At the border, Kim got out of his armored limousine and clasped his hands, waving to a crowd of people cheering his departure.
In the two-day visit to Vietnam, Kim spent his last day in Hanoi laying large red-and-yellow wreaths at a war memorial and at the mausoleum of national hero Ho Chi Minh, surrounded by Vietnamese soldiers in crisp white uniforms and his own entourage of top North Korean officials.
On the first day, he met with President Nguyen Phu Trong, the country’s top leader. The two sides agreed to facilitate high-level visits, and expand the exchange of all-level delegations via the party, state and mass organization channels.
He also met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and top legislator Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on the same day.
