Prime Minister starts official trip to Singapore

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc starts the official visit to Singapore and attends the 32nd ASEAN Summit from April 25-28 at the invitation of Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong.

Prime Minister Phuc is accompanied by his spouse, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh as well as other Vietnamese ministers and senior government officials.

This will be the first official visit to the Singapore of the prime minister on his position, amid both countries are heading to the 45th anniversary of bilateral ties (August 1, 1973-2018) and 5th year of Strategic Partnership establishment (September 2013-2018).
During the trip, PM Phuc will call on President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee who will host a welcome ceremony and an official dinner in his honour. 
The Vietnamese leader is scheduled to attend the Vietnam-Singapore Business Dialogue jointly organized by Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Business Federation and Singapore Manufacturing Federation. He will also visit the Government Technology Agency of Singapore and PSA Singapore and especially attend the 32nd ASEAN Summit 
This will be the first ASEAN Summit in 2018 as Singapore takes over the bloc’s rotating chairmanship. On the theme “Building a self-empowered and creative ASEAN”, the bloc’s leaders will discuss on measures to reinforce the self-empowerment of ASEAN to cope with emerging challenges and develop creatively in the context of Industrial Revolution 4.0, contributing to construct a united, strong and sustainable ASEAN.
