The Hanoitimes - Hanoi will host the three-day World Economic Forum (WEF) on ASEAN 2018 starting September 11 where the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be well analyzed, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son announced at a press conference today.
Deputy Minister Son said the hosting of the forum will bring benefits to Vietnam in terms of shared experience in national and corporate governance from around the world. The WEF ASEAN 2018 will also support Vietnamese enterprises in connecting with the world’s leading companies.
Themed "ASEAN 4.0: Entrepreneurship and the Fourth Industrial Revolution," the forum aims to shape the path forwad for ASEAN’s major transitions, including crafting new approaches to regional governace and geopolitics; unleasing business activity to drive economic and business dynamism, and shaping new policies to promote more sustainable and inclusive-growth.

“The forum will also be in line with the current theme of ASEAN that heads to a resilient and innovative bloc,” Son noted.
Besides 800 leaders from business, government, civil society and media, the event will also welcome the heads of about 100 hand-picked, early-stage start-ups, whose companies represent the dynamic nature and entrepreneurship in ASEAN.
Covering 55 dicussion sessions, the forum will focus on ASEAN nations’ concerns such as: to set a new vision of ASEAN intergation; to seek for new economic and governance models in digital era; to find new drive and business models for ASEAN nations amid the fourth industrial revolution; enterprises and new approaches with regional and global governance; develop smart infrastructure, jobs, start-ups, innovation as the fourth industrial revolution unfolds, etc.
The event lies among partnership contents signed between Vietnam and WEF in January 2017 to support the country through the next stage of its development amid the ongoing fourth industrial revolution.
