US Secretary of State to visit Hanoi

The US official will pay a visit to Hanoi during his tour to five countries on July 5-12.

US Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo will travel to Pyongyang, Tokyo, Hanoi, Abu Dhabi, and Brussels July 5-12, said a statement released on the website of the US Department of State on July 2.
As part of his trip, on July 8-9, the US top diplomat will visit Hanoi, where he will hold meetings with senior Vietnamese officials to "discuss our shared commitment to the final, fully verified denuclearization of the DPRK and other bilateral and regional issues," the statement writes. 
Prior to the Hanoi's trip, the Secretary will travel to Pyongyang, on July 5-7, to continue consultations and implement the forward progress made by US President Donald Trump and Chairman Kim Joung Un in Singapore.
In Tokyo, July 7-8, he will meet with Japanese and South Korean leaders to discuss shared commitment to the final, fully verified denuclearization of the DPRK, as well as other bilateral and regional issues.
The Secretary will also travel to Abu Dhabi from July 9-10, where he will meet with UAE leaders to discuss ways to further strengthen the US-UAE partnership and advance our common security and economic priorities.
Concluding his trip in Brussels, July 10-12, the US diplomat will accompany the US President to the NATO Summit and will also participate in the US-EU Energy Council as well as co-host a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS with NATO while in Brussels.
