Viernam PM chairs National Committee on E-government

Vietnamese Nguyen Xuan Phuc Prime Minister has approved the list of members in the National Committee on E-Government and the head of the working group assisting the Chairman of the National Committee on E-Government.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has become chairman of the newly-established National Committee for E-Government.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam serves as the committee’s Vice Chairman, while Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung is permanent member and General Secretary of the committee.

Other members include ministers and heads of offices involved.

PM Phuc also approved the Minister Mai Tien Dung as the head of the working group assisting the Chairman of the Committee. The deputy head including the Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and the Director General of the Department of Administrative Procedure Ngo Hai Phan.
 
The National Committee on E-Government is tasked with researching and proposing guidelines, strategies, mechanisms and policies to create a legal environment favorable for the development of an e-Government towards a digital Government, digital economy and digital society, thus facilitating the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Vietnam.

In addition, the committee helps the Vietnamese government and the PM to direct the ministries, branches and localities to realize the objectives, tasks and solutions for building and developing the e-government towards the digital government, digital economy and digital society.

Besides, the committee also assists the Vietnamese government and the PM in instructing, coordinating and inspecting the implementation of tasks and targets to build an e-government, and sum up and review the work to report to the government and the PM.

At the same time, the committee gives comments on strategies, programs, mechanisms, policies, schemes and projects related to the building and developing e-government under the PM’s deciding competence. 

Moreover, the committee helps review and evaluate the situation and results of implementation of key tasks and solutions for building and developing e-government, perform other tasks as requested by the government or the PM.
