During the meetings, Thuan appreciated the development of the two countries’ relations in recent years, especially the Vietnam visit by Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim in August 2017.
Meanwhile, he stressed that there remains room and potential for bilateral coordination, and suggested increasing all-level visits, including research and academic exchanges between research organizations of the two countries.
The Turkish side welcomed the delegation’s visit and stressed the importance of scientific cooperation between the two countries, expressing the desire that Vietnam in general and VASS in particular will continue to strengthen scientific research exchange with Turkey.
Besides, both sides also discussed regional and global issues of shared concerns.
On the occasion, the VASS signed a scientific exchange cooperation agreement with the TUBA, marking the start of the partnership between the two leading research institutions of Vietnam and Turkey.
When the delegation visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Ankara, Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Pham Anh Tuan affirmed that the embassy always stands ready to serve as a bridge linking the two countries together in science. He desired that VASS, TUBA and other Turkish research institutes would keep promoting practical and effective cooperation in the coming time.
