Hanoi held training session on child protection and care in 2018
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi has just organized a training session on child care and protection and gender equality.
The training session aims at officers in charge of social and cultural affairs in nine districts and urban districts of Hanoi.
Trainees were popularized basic knowledge of child care and protection, such as general issues of children, policies and mechanisms of the Party and the State on child care and protection, communications activities to protect the children like preventing child injuries and accidents and protecting children in special circumstances.
They were also provided information of policies of the Party and projects, programs of the State on gender equality, current situation of gender equality, challenges and achievements in gender equality in Vietnam, and gender issues in the fields of politics, labor, employment, education, health care, information culture and family.
Direction for gender equality to 2020 was introduced, along with Plan No.79/KH-UBND dated April, 2017 of the Municipal People’s Committee on implementing project on preventing, responding to gender-based violence to 2020 and vision to 2030, and Plan No. 61/KH-UBND dated March 12, 2018 of the Municipal People’s Committee on implementing gender equality and women’s advancement in Hanoi in 2018.
The training session also introduced skills for gender equality activities, such as communications, training and inspection.
This was an opportunity for officers to exchange experiences, and act as advisors to the Party units and local governments in promoting child care and protection, building plans for children and integrating them with socio-economic development tasks.
It also helped the officers enrich their knowledge and skills of gender equality and women’s advancement, thus fulfilling the role of advisor to the local Party units and governments in performing gender equality and women’s advancement tasks.
