Hanoi to make drastic effort to prevent illegal buses and stations

The Office of Government has recently released Document No. 3752/VPCP-CN on handling information of illegal buses and bus stations, and reporting to the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Information and Communications, National Traffic Safety Committee, People’s Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government.

After considering the report of the Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of Hanoi on handling information of illegal buses and bus stations in Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Head of National Traffic Safety Committee Truong Hoa Binh requests Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Information and Communications, National Traffic Safety Committee, People’s Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government to further implement instruction of the Prime Minister under Directive No. 12/CT-TTg dated June 2, 2015 on increasing urgent measures to ensure traffic safety and order in passenger transportation by buses and railroad traffic.

He urged the agencies to increase inspection and patrol, control and severely punish violations which are reported by  newspapers recently, prevent further operation of illegal buses and bus stations, and consider and suggest more severe punishments for violations like improper pick-up and drop-off, unlabeled vehicles.

The Deputy PM also requests Ministry of Transport to continue effort to consider and receive feedback of the Municipal People’s Committee on the draft Decree on business and business condition for transportation with buses (to replace Decree 86/2014/NĐ-CP), complete it soon and submit to the Prime Minister.

He asks Ministry of Plan and Investment to consider and propose amendment, supplement of Decree No.78/2015/NĐ-CP dated September 14, 2015 on enterprise registration, focusing on withdrawal of Enterprise Registration Certificate of enterprises, branches or representative offices which cause disorder in the area.

The Hanoi People’s Committee sums up implementation of three unsubsidized bus routes from the city center to Noi Bai International Airport according to instruction of the Prime Minister under Document No. 475/TTg-KTN dated March 22, 2016, and report to the PM by May 31.
