The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Official Letter No.1904/UBND-KGVX on rectifying and improving the efficiency of drug prevention and control in the area.
Under the Official Letter, the Capital city will focus on popularizing directive documents of the Central, ministries and relevant sectors, the Municipal Party Committee and the People’s Committee on drug prevention.
At the mean time organizing training courses to improve specialized knowledge and skills for cadres in charge of drug prevention and control; strengthening communication, popularization of Law on Drug Prevention and Fight in units and localities; innovating communication ways and contents with a focus on high risk objects and complicated areas of drug abuse; enhancing inspection of drug prevention and control; timely dealing with difficulties and obstacles, etc.
Departments of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Health are tasked to improve the capacity in performing their duties; evaluate the effectiveness of detoxification measures in the area and offer solutions in the coming time as regulated.
Chair-people of People’s Committees of districts and towns are in charge of proactively reviewing the implementation of drug prevention and control in localities so as to detect difficulties and problems and take suitable measures, contributing to improving the efficiency of the anti-drug fight in the coming time.
Sectors, agencies, organizations and collectives will continue strengthening communication and education of drug prevention laws; taking preventive solutions and encouraging local residents to detect, denounce crimes related to drug.
Steering Committees 138 of districts, communes will enhance comprehensive inspection of drug prevention and fight in communes, wards, towns, business facilities, schools so as to promote the anti-drug fight more effectively; provide more funds for localities to successfully build the scheme “Communes, wards, towns have no drug abuse”.
The Police Department in collaboration with Departments of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Health will support the Municipal Steering Committee 138 in carrying out the assigned missions.
