The Hanoitimes - The 45th Hanoimoi Newspaper Run is among activities to mark the 64th anniversary of Hanoi liberation and the 10th anniversary of the expansion of the city`s administrative boundaries.
Nearly 1,500 runners from 20 cities and provinces, including 280 foreigners from 26 embassies, will compete in the 2018 Hanoimoi Newspaper Run, which is scheduled to start at Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi on September 30.
There are five amateur and two professional categories. Especially, in the two professional categories, women will run three laps – equivalent to 5,250 meters. The men will compete five laps, around 8,750 meters.

Accordingly, several professional runners will compete at the 2018 Hanoimoi Newspaper Run, such as Nguyen Thi Oanh (Asian Games 2018 bronze medalist), Doan Hoai Thu (Southeast Asia Games Gold medal), Le Thi Thoa, Le Thi Nam Pham Thi Ngot and Ha Van Nhat (National Gold medal), etc.
In addition, over 200 officials at various departments in Hanoi will join the tournament.
The tournament was started on March 26, 2017 and has been organized in 30 districts and communes, attracting 353,843 participants.

In 2017, more than 1,000 runners joined the 44th Hanoimoi Newspaper Run for Peace on October 1 around Hoan Kiem Lake. Some 250 foreign participants from 20 embassies and international organizations in Hanoi took part. Most registered to sign on the peace flag and participated in 1,750 meters for women and 3,500 meters for men. Many participants also brought their children to run along with them.
