Deputy Minister of Environment of Japan Takaaiki Katsumata reminded the 45-year anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and implementing cooperation in numerous fields.
Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan highly valued the efforts of the Japanese Ministry of Environment in actively supporting Vietnam in developing human resources.
Nhan made the statement while attending the 5th Vietnam-Japan Environment Policy Dialogue, jointly held by Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Japan’s Ministry of Environment on January 9.
Besides, Japan also helped Vietnam solve issues related to management policies in the field of environment and climate change response, Nhan added.
He stressed the initiative of the two parties in co-organizing events in Vietnam-Japan Environment Week, which attracted great attention from agencies, organizations and enterprises in the environmental field of the two countries.

The 5th Vietnam-Japan Environment Policy Dialogue was held in the framework of Vietnam-Japan Environment Week on January 9-11, 2019. The two sides have exchanged views on climate change, waste management, and devised ways to resolve and promote subsequent activities.
In 2019, the two sides will continue to strengthen the relationship and promote cooperation in the field of environment and climate change through specifying cooperation programs and projects on policy development and green growth, pollution control, waste and wastewater management.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment proposed that Japan continue to cooperate and share expertise in formulating policies on climate change adaptation and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
