Red River

For thousands of years, the Red River has been the main engine of Hanoi's growth.

The five-kilometer bridge connects Hanoi and nearby areas, facilitating traveling and livelihoods in the region.

The four districts of Hoan Kiem, Long Bien, Ba Dinh, and Tay Ho will continue to jointly implement the project "Development of the Red River Alluvial Islet into a multi-purpose cultural park".

The mural is a gift from the German Embassy to the people of the capital. It is also the result of the passionate work of artist Thu Thuy, expressing the affection of the Vietnamese people for Germany.

Today, the capital city of Vietnam celebrates the 68th anniversary of liberation day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2022). This milestone has transformed Hanoi into a national hub and a vital metropolis in Southeast Asia, rich in culture and long-lasting characteristics.

Hanoi has officially approved the design of Tran Hung Dao Bridge across Red River and connecting the city's central part of Hoan Kiem with Long Bien District.

The capital city might face challenges in solving numerous issues related to the transport infrastructure, urban public works, and school system.

Hoan Kiem District’s authority plans to build a recreational area in the alluvial islet in the Red River.

The project has raised awareness and responsibility of the community in environmental protection as garbage is collected and wastewater treated.

Under the proposal, the city in the North of the Red River would have a total area of 700 square kilometers, consisting of rural districts of Dong Anh, Soc Son, part of Me Linh, and Gia Lam.
