Ninh Binh holds firework displays to mark establishment of Dai Co Viet dynasty

Ninh Binh People’s Committee has announced its plan to hold high-altitude fireworks to mark the 1050th anniversary of the establishment of Dai Co Viet, the first imperial dynasty in Vietnam.

Fireworks will be on show in 15 minutes from 10:15 – 10:30 pm on April 24 at Am Tien Cave, Truong Yen commune, Ninh Binh province, according to the organization board.
In addition, a national-scale ceremony and art programme with themed “Shining epic on Dai Co Viet'” will also be held from April 24 - 27, to mark establishment of Dai Co Viet dynasty.
The programme will feature profound implications, contributing to affirming the role and important values of the Dai Co Viet dynasty, the first centralised feudal state in Vietnam during the process of national construction and defence, while highlighting the role of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang in the process of national reunification.
The art programme will see the participation of hundreds of artists and athletes from the Hanoi Vietnam Tuong Theatre, Hanoi Cheo Theatre, Ninh Binh Cheo Theatre, Viet Bac Art Troupe, Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, and others.
The highlight of the programme will be a string of 47 events to be held in Ninh Binh province to celebrate 1050 years since Dinh Bo Linh ascended to the throne and set up the Dai Co Viet State, which laid the foundations for the prosperity of many subsequent dynasties in the history of the nation.
Artist Le Quy Duong will be the general director cum screenwriter of the programme and the programme will also receive consultancy from historians Truong Dinh Tuong and Dr. Tran Dinh Ngon.
Dai Co Viet (Great Viet) was the first centralised feudal state in Vietnam which existed from 968 to 1010 AD. It was also the first capital of the country until King Ly Thai To moved the capital to Thang Long (the former name of Hanoi) in 1010.
In 2017, Ninh Binh welcomed 7 million visitors, a year-on-year rise of 9%, including over 850.000 foreign visitors, an increase of 20% on year. It earned a revenue of nearly VND2.4 trillion (US$107 million),  a surge of over 41% over that recorded a year earlier, according to Ninh Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Ninh Binh has planned to welcome 7.2 million tourists every in 2018 and continue promoting beauty of the province to people in other areas in Vietnam and to foreign people all over the world.
