Hanoians have a chance to enjoy many kinds of art activities at the 2018 Hanoi Food Culture Festival.
The first Hanoi Food Culture Festival officially opened in the Vietnam’s capital on October 11, part of activities to celebrate the 64th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day and 1,008 years of Thang Long - Hanoi.
The 2018 Hanoi Food Culture Festival aims to introduce more than 20 of Hanoi’s well-known cuisines to locals and tourists alike. The festival runs until October 14.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said that with more than 20 booths selling food, the village was divided into three areas, including recreating traditional cultural village space with typical gastronomy of Hanoi.
Through the event, Hanoians have a chance to enjoying delicious food, special gifts by the artisans, chefs from families who have practiced in Hanoi for many years; and a photo exhibition on Hanoi now and then, its cultural history and cuisine will also be upheld. It will introduce a code of conduct in public areas in the capital, he added.
In addition, a major stage will feature exchanges with artisans and researchers on Hanoi cuisine as well as folk games to help tourists better understand the value of Hanoi cuisine. Visitors will also have a chance to enjoy food cooked in traditional ways.
The highlight of the 2018 Hanoi Food Culture Festival is the food, one of the most interesting things when visitors come to this millennial city. Accordingly, many kinds of traditional and typical food of Hanoi will be introduced at the event. They include Hanoi pho, Thanh Tri steamed roll rice pancakes, Vong and Me Tri green rice flakes, Quan Ganh rice cake, and Uoc Le pork pies.
Cuisine and cuisine culture has become a singularity of Hanoi that makes this millennium-aged city stand out in the national and international tourism map.
