The event aims to encourage foreign runners to enjoy Hanoi’s food and sightseeing the iconic landmarks of the city at the same time.
After the first series launched in major Asian cities, the 2019 Kilorun Hanoi will kick off at Ly Thai To Park, on March 2, expected to draw the participation of over 2,500 participants, Voice of Vietnam (VOV) reported.
The unique event is organized by Index Creative Village in coordination with AirAsia X.
The 2019 Kilorun Hanoi will be held under two categories, namely km (kilometer) category and kg (kilogram) category. The Kilometer category has the registration time from 05:00 to 08:30 at Ly Thai To Park. The participants will run through the route of Hanoi’s iconic attractions, including Ly Thai To Statue, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Old Quarter, Hanoi Opera House and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The race is divided into three categories: L (Large) Run 10.7 km, M (Medium) Run 6.7 km, and S (Small) Run 2.3 km.
Meanwhile, for Kilorun, the participants will have the chance to taste famous local dishes including glass noodle with deep fried eel, barbecued port with rice vermicelli, rice vermicelli with chicken egg pork, steamed rice rolls, etc.
Kriengkarn Kanjanapokin, Co-chief executive officer of Index Creative Village PLC and Creative Director of the Kilorun, said that the Kilorun is an international festival of fully integrated run, eat and fun in one go.
“We choose the prominent and unique charming cultural cities of Asia, particularly, the native gorgeous dishes which are the signature dishes of each country,” said Kriengkarn Kanjanapokin.
“The 2019 Kilorun Hanoi is considered as the route that we are long for because Hanoi is a charming capital of both culture and cuisine and has many attractions and highlights. It is a popular tourist destination for Thai people with a consistent trend of the growth rate,” Kriengkarn Kanjanapokin added.
