The Ninh Binh Tourism Week is held annually in late May during the most beautiful time in Tam Coc – Bich Dong site when the rice paddies along the banks of the Ngo Dong river ripen.
The 2019 Ninh Binh Tourim Week with theme “The Golden Color of Tam Coc – Trang An” officially opened on May 18 at Tam Co Marina in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province, a local newspaper reported.
This year’s festival, scheduled to take place from May 18 to 25, aims to promote the special cultural features and outstanding values of Ninh Binh’s tourism to domestic and foreign visitors, and make the Ninh Binh Tourism Week a worth visiting annual tourism event.
It opened with a 2 kilometer parade of dragon boats along Ngo Dong river, which runs through the caves at the Tam Coc – Bich Dong complex, including Ca, Hai and Ba caves.
Visitors on the boats can admire not only the awe-stunning beauty of yellow ripened rice fields along the route, but also enjoy charming folk singing melodies performed by local artists.
This year’s event features many activities, including Tam Coc walking street, food market, Ca Tru, Hat Cheo, Hat Xam, traditional musical instrument performances, a photo exhibition, folk games, a seminar on developing tourism products of Ninh Binh, and water puppetry shows, among others
The craft of embroidery of Van Lam villagers in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district and pottery making of Bo Bat pottery in Bach Lien village, Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district, will also be showcased to visitors on the occasion.
