In the contest, the top 10 of outstanding business ideas would be selected and received direct supports from the Vietnam e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA), Amazon Global Selling and T&T Group, and other investors.

Vietnam’s conglomerate T&T Group on September 10 partnered with Amazon Global Selling and the Vietnam e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA) launched a contest to look for talents in cross-border e-commerce.

Nearly 1,000 students participated in the contest.

The event attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 students from major universities across the country.

In the contest, the top 10 of outstanding business ideas would be selected and received direct support from iDEA, Amazon Global Selling and T&T Group and other investors. During the process of realizing ideas, students will have opportunities to be trained and provided knowledge on e-commerce, particularly experience in doing business in cross-border e-commerce, as well as brand building and business consultation.

Vice Director of iDEA Lai Viet Anh said the contest aims to raise awareness of the society regarding cross-border e-commerce and improve the quality of the human resources, while it gives students opportunities to develop their business ideas into reality.

“Students could grasp this chance to introduce their products to international markets, in turn taking Vietnamese brand to the world stage,” Anh stated.

Director of T&T’s International Trade and Investment Promotion Department Tran Kim Oanh referred to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s instruction that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is a turning point for Vietnam, in which, the high quality workforce would lay the foundation for the country to take on this opportunity.

With the participation of Amazon in this contest, Oanh believed Vietnamese students would not only gain valuable experiences in e-commerce, but also be inspired by the development of cross-border business ideas.

Amazon Global Selling assists enterprises worldwide to approach Amazon’s global markets, with sellers being able to contact over 300 million buyer accounts and 175 fulfillment centers around the world.

In early 2019, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETTRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade unveiled its plan for collaboration with Amazon Global Selling program in a bid to boost exports through e-commerce.

Following the deal, Amazon would support Vietnamese enterprises, especially small and medium ones, to access global market and promote brands on Amazon.com.
