The Hanoitimes - The US Agency for International Development (USAIDS) on August 14 held a workshop on summarizing achievements after five years launching Health Policy Initiative (HPI) project.

The project provided HIV-related legal support services about 5,000 people across Viet Nam in the reviewed period, according to the report presented at the event.

It also helped in amending and issuing 13 HIV/AIDS policies and regulations and provided training for 65 self-help groups of HIV-positive individuals.

The five-year project was conducted under the auspices of the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

Via the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the US Government provided Viet Nam with over US$500 million since 2005 to prevent the spread of HIV in the country and offer health care to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
