Australia invests in 24 projects in VN in 2014

As of the end of 2014, Australia has invested in 320 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of over US$1.65 billion, ranking 19th among 101 nations and territories investing in the country.

According to the Foreign Investment Agency, under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Australia poured US$30.73 million in 24 projects in Viet Nam in 2014, ranking 16 among 60 nations and territories investing in Viet Nam.

The newly-registered and additional capital from Australian investors to Viet Nam totaled US$142.84 million in 2014. Australian investments in Viet Nam mainly focused on the manufacturing and processing sectors with US$1.03 billion in 119 projects. Ba Ria-Vung Tau topped the list among 39 provinces and cities attracting Australian investment with US$252.17 million in 11 projects.
