Ba Be - Na Hang is recorded in the World Heritage List

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam directed to submit "Ba Be - Na Hang Natural Heritage" report to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization( UNESCO) for recognition as World Heritage.

Specifically, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO to submit "Ba Be-Na Hang Natural Heritage" Brief Report to UNESCO while guiding Tuyen Quang and Bac Kan People's Committee to prepare and submit scientific records to the Prime Minister for permission.

Deputy Prime Minister assigns Tuyen Quang People's Committee to coordinate with Bac Kan People's Committee to and the relevant agencies to prepare "Ba Be - Na Hang Nature Heritage" dossiers as prescribed in the guidance on implementing World Heritage Convention in 1972 and legislation on cultural heritage.
Na Hang Nature Reserve covers an area of over 33,000 ha in Thanh Tuong, Son Phu, Khau Tinh, Con Lon and Na Hang townships, adjacent to Chiem Hoa, Lam Binh and Cho Don districts. (Bac Kan).
In the Nature Reserve, there are over 21,000 ha of special-use forests and high biodiversity landscapes. Up to now, scientists have identified over 2,000 plant species, many of which are listed in the Vietnam Red Book such as: Pentace tonkinensis Chev., Cupressus torulosa, Paphiopedilum spp, precious medicinal plants, etc.
The Nature Reserve has initially recorded 88 mammal species, 294 bird species, 30 reptile species and 18 amphibian species, 300 butterflies, 40 bat species, thousands of fish including Green Swamp, Anh Vu. Many animals in the reserve are listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the world Red Book. There are eight species of monkeys, including Rhinopithecus avunculus, Trachypithecus francoisi. The World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF-US) has identified it as one of the highest valued biodiversity ecosystems in the world.
Ba Be Lake is one of the large and beautiful natural freshwater lakes in the world in the mountains. The lake was formed about 10,000 years ago, with a long, complex geological history and diverse compositions of soil, rock and unique geological structure. There are about 1,268 species of vascular plants, 470 vertebrates, of which there are 81 species of mammals, 234 species of birds, 30 species of reptiles, 18 species of amphibians and 107 species of fish. According to scientists, there are at least 367 butterflies and other boneless animals in the Ba Be area.
The entire Ba Be Lake scenic area has special landscapes, such as karst plateau, Dau Dang waterfall, Nang river karst plant gorge, Ba Be lake and cave system. Ba Be Lake also has many places referred to in legends, archaeological relics, cultural activities, beliefs and other natural beauty, such as Tien pond, Tien cave, An Ma and Ba Goa mound.
