President of the European Commission José Manuel Durão Barroso will pay a two-day visit to Vietnam on August 25-26 at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
This was announced by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh at a press briefing in Hanoi on August 21.
The visit aims to strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the EU.
During the two-day trip, the EC President will hold talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and meet with some other Vietnamese senior leaders to discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern as well as measures to promote bilateral relations, especially in economics and trade.
