Establishing Vietnam Encyclopedia compilation Steering Council

The Prime Minister has approved the founding of a Council Steering for the compilation of a Vietnam encyclopedia. Accordingly, the Steering Council will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam

President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Nguyen Xuan Thang and President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Chau Van Minh is the Standing Vice Chairman and the Vice Chairman, respectively. 
The Steering Council will group 13 members, including: Deputy minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac; Deputy minister of the Ministry of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong; Deputy minister of the Ministry of Finance Truong Chi Trung; Deputy minister of the Ministry of National Defence Do Ba Ty; Deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security Bui Van Nam; Deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Deputy minister of the Ministry of Education and Training Pham Manh Hung; and Deputy minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Bich Lien; 
Deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Bui The Duc; Deputy head of the Theory Council Phung Huu Phu; Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration Nguyen Tat Giap; Deputy Director of the Vietnam National University in Hanoi Nguyen Huu Duc and Deputy Director of the Vietnam National University in HCM City Huynh Thanh Dat. 
The Steering Council is tasked with proposing guidelines, directions, and measures of compiling the encyclopedia to the Prime Minister, and helping the Government leader coordinate the compilation work. It is also deputed to mobilise scientists’ engagement in the work, valuate compilation outcomes, and publish the encyclopedia.
