For his part, Hanoi's Nguyen The Hung appreciated the close and developing ties between France and Vietnam. The two countries’ communist parties have enjoyed a fruitful and loyal relation for a very long time.
Hung also hailed activities of PCF and thanked its close relation and timely support to the Communist Party of Vietnam during the socialism construction.

About the environment issue, Hung briefed that the city’s main target is by 2020, all 10 million citizens in the city will have access to safe water. To achieve the target, the city is heading to build European-standard water factories projects and call for enterprises to invest in them.
During the past three years, Hanoi has changed totally the traditional procedure of collecting and treating garbage, while heading to build garbage-to-power plants.
Hung hopes that French partners with deep knowledge and experiences in those areas would support Hanoi to achieve its ambitious goals.
