The PM has approved a project on capacity building and institutional reform to promote green growth and sustainable development in Viet Nam.

The project is sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Global Low Emission Capacity Building Program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the EU Low Emission Capacity Building (EU-UNDP LECB), via the UNDP.

The project, worth of US$4.128 million, will be launched by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) in Ha Noi and other selected provinces.

Of the funding, US$3.9 million is financed through the Official Development Assistance.

The goal of the project is to improve the MPI’s capacity concerning guidance, supervision, assessment, verification, report and re-examination of the implementation of the Strategy and Plan of Action for Green Growth.

The project aims to increase the capacity for the MPI in realizing the National Action Plan for Green Growth Strategy and cooperating with other relevant agencies, international organizations and development partners.

It also helps improve the knowledge and awareness of policy-makers and businesses about green growth and sustainable development, analyze policies on finance, investment, and barriers on investment in green growth.
