Hanoi and Osaka enhance cooperation to develop

On Oct. 23rd, Deputy Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan received Japan delegation led by Haruhiki Ito – Mayor of Izumito city (Osaka province).

At the reception, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan confirmed the importance role of Japan as leading partner of Vietnam with more than 700 investment projects of 5 billion USD. Many of those invest in Hanoi - the capital.

In recent year, Hanoi continuously expand cooperation with numerous Japan provinces, cities on various areas: economic, commerce, investment, environment solution effectively.
However, in the next phase of cooperation, two sides should choose pointed areas to deploy investment such as Izumito 200-year traditional weave craft, pottery, seaport shipping management… While there were thousands of traditional craft village in Hanoi. As representative of Hanoi leader board, Deputy Chairman assured to try his best to facilitate Japan investors in those areas.
Agreed with above suggestions, Mayor Haruhiki Ito promised that, after the working trip, along with leaders from city board and related function bodes, would do research and review on those field. Mayor Haruhiki Ito also confirmed, besides economic, both cities would expand cooperation on culture exchange, tourism, via which enhances mutual understanding between People of two cities, contributing to nourish Japan – Vietnam friendship.
