Hanoi enhances tie with Tokyo

​On 3 July 2015, in Tokyo, Mr. Nguyen The Thao – Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee received and discussed with Mr. Yoichi Masuzoe ­ Tokyo Gouvernerabout measures to enhance the cooperation between the two capitals, Ha Noi and Tokyo.

At the meeting, two side affirmed, based on strategic sound partner relationship between Vietnam and Japan, the cooperation of both capitals had been reinforced and continuously developed, attaining remarkable achievements. Leaders of Ha Noi and Tokyo on this occasion, reviewed the memorandum of cooperation carrying out since being signed in 2013; high appreciated the Tokyo assistance to Ha Noi in forte fields related to environment, infrastructure: improve environment pollution, assist investment, train managers for water supply & drainage as well as summit athletes on preparation for big sport tournament by 2020... Especially, with the birth of  Asia  Network of Major Cites  21 (ANMC21) delivered by Tokyo, the tie between Ha Noi and Tokyo would be increasingly closer with more various cooperation fields.

On foundation of cooperate achievements, with mutual target to develop sustainable economic – society, Chairman of Ha Noi’s Committee Nguyen The Thao highlighted the necessary of strengthening the bilateral tie on potential or inadequate cooperative areas such as commerce, education, cultural exchange... Particularly, Ha Noi hope that Tokyo would persistently assist in education and training, architect plan, urban environment with the aim to concretize the memorandum of cooperation signed between two capitals.  
In conclusion, two sides agreed and expressed confidence about sound cooperate potentials and steadfast, effective development of friendship between Ha Noi and Tokyo, based on which bilateral tie of Vietnam – Japan would be consolidated.
On the same day, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao met Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture - Kuroiwa Yuji; Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) – Akihiro Ota. Chairman Nguyen The Thao and leaders of MLIT were all in charge of leading the talk show on Investment in infrastructure and urban development in Ha Noi, with the attendance of managerial representatives and crowdedly Japan giant enterprises.
At the workshop, Hanoi and Japan sides exchanged opinions and responded to questions and proposals raised by Japanese entrepreneurs, especially on the automobile industry, and energy, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals and ODA projects.

During the workshop, the Japan - Hanoi investment, commerce and tourism promotion was emphasized as ideal chance for Japan enterprises to exchange, understand and connect to cooperate. Two sides asserted, in the context of an active market with government guidelines of facilitating bidirectional cooperation on various areas, community of Japan enterprise had sufficient ability and motivation to cooperate, penetrate in Hanoi market, exploit effectively the competition advantages of respective potentials.
