Hanoi focuses on developing and modernizing power grid

Hanoi’s authority requires Hanoi Electricity Corporation to speed up power projects in accordance with the city`s electricity development plan, make adjustments for the plan to ensure stable and continuous supply.

The Hanoi People's Committee has issued a plan on the operation of the Steering Committee for developing and modernizing the city’s power grid in 2019, the government portal reported.

Accordingly, the city will build key and urgent works of electricity with 110, 220, 500kV to ensure energy supply.

In developing power grid in 2019, Hanoi will improve its capacity and efficiency in checking, supervising, detecting and resolving violations in power grid safety corridors, infringements in electrical safety, efficiency and effective use of  energy.

Besides, the city will raise people’s awareness about observing regulations on electricity prices, safety against fire and explosion, using electricity safely, efficiently and effectively.

The Hanoi government requires the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with Hanoi Electricity Corporation and relevant units to implement the electricity demand management program in the city for the period of 2018-2020 according to the plan issued by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Regarding investment and development for the power grid, the government requires the city’s Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with Hanoi Electricity Corporation and related units to review and evaluate the city’s power consumption to work out Hanoi’s power plan for socio-economic development in the coming years.

In addition, Hanoi’s authority also requires Hanoi Electricity Corporation to speed up power projects in accordance with the city's electricity development plan, make adjustments for the plan to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply.
