Hanoi - Fukuoka cooperation achieves positive results

City Council Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc on November 26 had a meeting with Fukuoka council delegation, led by Mr. Tadatoshi Inoue - Chairman of the Council, are visiting and working in Hanoi.

At the meeting, the two sides stressed that the content of cooperation signed between Hanoi and Fukuoka have been implemented actively and effectively. Fukuoka's Chairman - Mr.Tadatoshi Inoue also highly appreciated the performance of the exchange program "Hanoi Cultural Days" taking place in Fukuoka in August, 2015, while requesting Hanoi to enable 300 Japanese high school students to practically experience to learn more about Hanoi in the near future.

Besides, Chairman Inoue also expressed his confidence that the delegation's visit to Hanoi with the participation of over 10 members, including parliamentarians, businesses, large investors in various fields, will open many opportunities for cooperation and new investment between the province and the city.

Agreeing with this statement, City Council Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said that the contents signed between local cooperation is implemented actively and effectively, such as: Project of waste treatment Xuan Son (Son Tay) is applying Fukuoka's technology of aerobic landfill is being well run. The bilateral cooperation is motivated actively, representatives of Phu Xuyen district and Dong Anh district have visited Fukuoka and some localities of Japan to explore cooperation in the field of production, processing and marketing of agriculture products and so on.

Under the plan, in the beginning of 2016, Hanoi will organize a delegation to Japan to expand cooperation in the field of tourism, conservation learning, potential of culture exploiting, ancient villages, traditional villages that Fukuoka as well as Japan has a lot of experience, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said.

On Mr.Inoue's suggestion, City Council Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc affirmed that the city will facilitate Japanese students to visit Hanoi to study and learn the practice of the Capital's culture, with a request for activities associated with youth cultural exchanges, enabling young people a deeper understanding of the history and tradition of friendship between Vietnam and Japan, thereby cultivating the relationship between the two countries, as well as between Hanoi and Japan's provinces, cities.
