Chairman Nguyen The Thao appreciated the experience and strategies for environmental protection of Geneva, as there are significant lessons to Hanoi, from which both sides can implement programs and projects in this field. He also wants the two cities to scale and leverage greater cooperation in the field of cross-cultural, urban management, commercial investment, tourism, etc.

Earlier, the Hanoi delegation led by Chairman Nguyen The Thao paid a working visit to the city of Bern (Swiss Federal Capital) - Local intimate relations with Hanoi, presented the Chinese clock (set at Hoan Kiem Lake), on the occasion of 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi (2010). City Mayor Mr. Alexandre Markus Bern- Tschaeppaet, has met and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, the two leaders jointly agreed to hold Hanoi Culture Week in Bern in 2016. This is an activity to celebrate 45 years of friendly relations between Vietnam and Switzerland, through which promoting human image of Hanoi in particular and Vietnamese people in general to the Swiss and Capital of Bern. The delegation also proposed cooperation from Bern Capital, to help Hanoi in the field of education, conservation and restoration of historical cities.
Also in the framework of the working visit to Switzerland, the Hanoi delegation met with Vietnam delegation in Geneva, attended the meeting of 70th anniversary of Vietnam National Day and attended the inauguration of new headquarters of Permanent Mission of Vietnam in Geneva.
