According to a report presented by Deputy Director of the Hanoi Police Department Nguyen Van Vien, the communication and dissemination of laws to students in the city has become a routine and proved effective. The number of students breaking the law in the city has been curbed and reduced. In particular, no student has gathered or participated in protests like in previous years.

In addition, law education at universities and colleges is highly valued, because it helps the students understand basic regulations of law, raise their awareness and sense of law observance, contributing to ensuring stability of political security, social order and safety in the city.

Specifically, according to statistics from the Hanoi Police Crime division, if in the 2009 - 2015 period, they handled 986 criminal cases involving students in the city, or 138 cases per year, by 2018, the number has declined to 122 cases.

According to statistics from the the Hanoi Police Road and Railway division, in 2015, the rate of traffic infringements of people aged from 18 to 27 accounted for 33.96% and so far it has been reduced to 32.65%.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son said that thanks to the good coordination, the work of ensuring political security, social order and safety among students was guaranteed and appreciated by the Vietnamese government.

For the task in the time ahead, Son requested Hanoi police to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments to recommend the city’s authority a plan for the next period with the direction of reforming both content and form of law education. The implementation process should be associated with the capital’s political tasks and development orientation.

Besides, Hanoi’s authority will organize interdisciplinary inspection teams to supervise the implementation process and together find ways to overcome the difficulties.
