Hanoi to promulgate ten solutions to boost exports in 2017

Hanoi People’s Committee has just promulgated the Plan No. 89/KH-UBND on deploying solutions to boost exports in the city in 2017.



 
Accordingly, to reach the target of export growth rate in the city in 2017 to increase by 4.5 percent compared to same period last year and total export turnover to reach around US$ 11,100 million, the city will focus on deploying ten solutions:

Continuing to promote the administrative reform, focusing on the fields of customs, tax, procedures for granting business licenses, investment certificates, certificate on origin, handling investment procedures for export production; applying online administrative procedures; facilitating and cutting costs for enterprises.

Building mechanism and policies to promote production and export; well implementing the monetary policies under the direction of the Government and the central agencies in the locality; effectively controlling, managing foreign currency market, gold market.

Enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises, manufacturers; connecting labor supply and demand to create labor resources to meet business requirements on labor in favor of export development.

Enhancing investment attraction in the development of infrastructure and services to serve export business, such as: accelerating investment projects on infrastructure construction of industrial parks and complexes; First and Second Class Logistics Centers.

Renovate and improve the efficiency of the trade, investment promotion to advertise local brand names and support export businesses.

Regularly organizing conferences, meetings with enterprises to collect information, grasp the situation, directly extricate difficulties and obstacles to enterprises, promote production and export, and propose competent authorities to handle proposals of enterprises.

Enhancing the supervision of imports according to standards and regulations on quality, food hygiene and safety and environmental protection.

Well perform the market management, inspection and examination for conditional goods and the import and distribution units to control the import, reduce trade deficit.

Manufacturers and exporters in the locality actively raise the quality of products, improve competitiveness, create trademarks of products and constantly train themselves or participate in training courses organized by  departments, sector of the city to improve the quality of human resources, meet the increasing requirements of the process of international economic integration.

The city’s export turnover in 2016 was estimated at US$10,613 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent. Of the number, export made by domestic enterprises amounted to US$8,143 million, up 1.5 percent against the same period last year.
