Hanoi vows to ensure security and political stability for development

The second US-North Korea summit recently held in Hanoi was highly appreciated in terms of order and security.

Hanoi always makes efforts to ensure security and political stability for development, said Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai in Hanoi on March 12.

In 2018, despite the world uncertainties, Hanoi was chosen to host many important political and social events, posing many challenges for ensuring security and order in the city.

However, the Steering Committee of Program 05 of the Hanoi’s Party Committee implemented synchronously measures, promoted combined strength of the whole political system and successfully completed objectives and tasks.

This is an important premise so that 2018’s defense and security situation in the capital awas maintained, with no act of terrorism, no opposing political organizations’ activities and no "hot spots" of disorder and insecurity.

Especially, the second US-North Korea summit recently held in Hanoi was lauded in terms of order and security.

Besides, the meeting’s participants also pointed out some outstanding issues such as: the situation forecast was not close to reality, the prevention and struggle against national security infringement were not carried out actively.

Recognizing the Steering Committee’s efforts and results in recent years, the Hanoi’s Party Committee Secretary Hoang Trung Hai said that this is one of the highlights on creating a safe environment, contributing to the capital's socio-economic and external relations development.

Hai required the Steering Committee to implement a focused and comprehensive tasks and plans, then regularly report progress and performance results to the city’s leaders.
