In the framework of the official visits to European countries, Hanoi`s high-level delegation led by the Chairwoman of municipal People`s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc arrived in Germany`s Berlin City on December 18.
Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc met with Berlin's Congress Chairman of Ralf Wieland in Berlin on December 18 with the aims to boost cooperation relations between Hanoi and Berlin.
At the talk, the two sides expressed their pleasures at the friendly and cooperative relations development between Hanoi and the localities of Germany.
The two leaders affirmed that the bilateral cooperation in education - training, trade and services has achieved positive results in the recent years.
The two sides agreed to promote exchanges and cooperation in areas of mutual interest and Berlin's strengths, such as education, economy - trade, e-government and public services, social work, urban transport, medical and high-tech.
During the meeting, Chairwoman Ngoc expressed that Hanoi hopes to continue receiving Berlin's assistances and cooperation in order to promote FDI investments from Germany in Hanoi in key areas such as finance - banking, tourism, commerce, science and technology, supporting industry, processing, biotechnology, environment and urban infrastructure development.
The Chairwoman affirmed that beside the prioritised fields, Hanoi always encourages and creates favourable conditions for organizations and enterprises of Berlin in particular and Germany in general seek cooperation and investment opportunities in sectors of health and vocational training.
For his part, Chairman Ralf Wieland confirmed Berlin City attaches the importance to maintain and expand friendly cooperation relations with the capital of Hanoi.
Chairman Ralf Wieland also expressed his confidence that Hanoi's visit will open new opportunities for cooperation, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of friendly relations of Vietnam - Germany strategic partnership, as well as the government and local people of both cities of Hanoi and Berlin.
In the same day, the delegation visited Louise Schroder vocational training center in Berlin.
Earlier, the delegation met and worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany on December 17.
Chairwoman Ngoc expressed her hope that embassy's officials and staffs will continue to play as a bridge, contributing to develop the friendship and diversified cooperation between Vietnam and Germany in general, Hanoi and Berlin in particular in the coming time.
The delegation had a working visit to the German Reconstruction Bank discussing on the support of medical equipments for Hanoi's health sector, the investment to build a new hospital in Hanoi, and cooperation in advanced training for professional and managerial capacity at state hospital.
The official working visits of Hanoi's high-ranking delegation in European countries concluded successfully.
These visits have not only contributed to enhancing mutual understanding, deepening friendly relations between Hanoi city and the capital cities of Poland, Czech Republic and Germany, but also opened new opportunities for cooperation in various fields, serving for the municipal socio-economic development and integration.
