Hanoians enjoy various activities in Connecting Viet Youth 2017.
The event will be hosted by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union chapter of the Hanoi municipal Students Association, the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community – Hanoi Hub, the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK, the Volunteer for Education Organisation and the Vietnamese students’ associations in the US, Australia, France, South Korea, Hungary and Singapore.
Opening the event will be a charity run at Hang Day stadium with over 300 young people taking part, a music show with DJs and singers and a flash mob. A charity program, including blood donations, music performances, and gift-giving to over 300 child patients who are being treated at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, will be launched on August 7.
In addition, approximately 3,000 young runners are expected to turn out for this year’s annual charity color obstacle run on August 6 at the Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi, which promises to be bigger, better, louder and more colorful than ever.
Unlike a typical run, there will also be loads of obstacles to maneuver around on the course including such things as car tires, ropes, water balls, and colored powder, say the organizers.
The forum “Creativity in industrial era 4.0”, scheduled for August 9, will be attended by Bitexco Chairman Vu Quang Hoi, the US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius, 50 leading start-ups in the technology sector and 1,000 Vietnamese young intellectuals working and studying abroad.
All proceeds will go to charity, including the building of a house of gratitude in Muong Mun commune, Tuan Giao district, in the northern province of Dien Bien and a new school for poor students, costing VND 261 million (US$11,300), in Tenh Phong commune.
