Interactive exhibit re-creates famous historical battles

Through visual maps, sounds, and well-presented documents, visitors will learn about famous battles that were turning points in the nation's two great wars of resistance.

Information on epic military campaigns in Vietnam's history, such as the Viet Bac Campaign (1947), Dien Bien Phu Campaign (1954), Tay Nguyen Campaign (1975), Ho Chi Minh Campaign (1975) are displayed at the interactive exhibition "Famous Battles, Talented Generals" in Hanoi.

Nhan Dan Newspaper launched the exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944-2024).

The exhibition praises the glorious achievements of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and pays tribute to the talented generals of the invincible army.

The information and documents about the battles and generals are based on Nhan Dan Newspaper's data and enriched by the Vietnam Military History Institute.

Through visual maps, sounds and well-presented documents, visitors are promised an interesting experience and easily assimilated information about famous and decisive battles in the two great resistance wars of the nation.

In particular, there is a series of portraits of military geniuses, the 20 talented generals of the People's Army of Vietnam, by artist Do Hoang Tuong in watercolor on paper, including generals Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Le Trong Tan, Hoang Van Thai, Le Duc Anh, and others.

Every brush stroke and block of paint that artist Do Hoang Tuong uses to create portraits of those who have contributed to the glorious history of the nation is said to be filled with feelings of respect, admiration and pride.

After the exhibition, this set of paintings will be donated by Nhan Dan Newspaper to the Vietnam Military History Museum for display.

Primary school students visit the exhibition.

According to Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the exhibition is different from others because it combines painting and history, documentary information and modern media technology.

Visitors can scan the QR code embedded in each painting and battle diagram to get more information and visuals about famous battles and their architects, the most talented generals in the nation's history.

The interactive exhibition is Nhan Dan Newspaper's attempt to create a new experience for visitors.

"We believe that if we boldly innovate and creatively communicate, traditional and historical values will become more assimilated by the younger generation," Minh said.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until December 22 at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, 71 Hang Trong Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
