Int'l Travel Expo – ITE HCM City 2019 expects to lure thousands of visitors

This year’s event will focus on expanding in major markets, including North American, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, making a breakthrough in the city’s tourism promotion in the 2019 – 2020 period.

The 15th International Travel Expo – ITE Ho Chi Minh City 2019 is expected to attract more than 250 international buyers from high-demand markets and 35,000 visitors, said the organizing board at a press conference on March 28.

The event will be organized at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7 from September 5 to 7 by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, VINEXAD and Informa Exhibitions.
The event aims to connect Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general to other tourist destinations, cities, and countries in the region, an initial ground to shape regional-level tourism cooperation mechanisms or transnational chains of tourist destinations so as to better serve international tourists.
The expo will provide a venue for tourism management agencies and travel agents nationwide and internationally to meet up, exchange information and establish business cooperation.
This year’s event will focus expanding in major markets, including North American, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, making a breakthrough in the city’s tourism promotion in the 2019 – 2020 period.
The 2019 ITE – Ho Chi Minh City will have a large scale with more than 350 booths from airlines, hotels, resorts, travel firms and tourism representatives from over 40 countries and territories like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan (China), Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Bhutan, Turkey, Russia, Germany..
According to Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center Le Truong Hien Hoa, the event is a platform for international and regional buyers, suppliers and trade professionals from tourism and travel organisations in both inbound and outbound markets in the Mekong sub-region. In particular, at this year's event, the organizing board will increase 55% of the space for booths.
In addition, the expo will feature a varied program including International Travel Mart, online business matching, seminars, ITE Travel Awarding ceremony, Cruise Tourism seminar, Tourism Start-up forum, exhibition and Travel Fun Fair Day for public, among others.
In 2018, the ITE – Ho Chi Minh City, which ran from September 5 to 8, saw the participation of 375 enterprises and witnessed more than 4,500 business appointments made by domestic tour operators and international buyers.
